Story:
An intense tale, the story is on the backdrop of a slum and here lives Balaji (muthukumar) who has a rough childhood due to his drunkard father Jothi (shimmore). Balaji takes care of his younger brother Karthik (nani) and both grow at their uncle's place. The uncle's daughter Revathi (nithya) and Karthik are in love. Jothi grows up to be a pimp. Meanwhile, Karthik is close friends with Vishnu (karthik) and is ready to do anything for him. Vishnu falls in love with a call girl Vani (bindu madhavi) and he wants money. So he joins hands with Jothi for a drug deal. One mistake leads to other and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a rustic storyline and while the presentation was classy, the narrative was different. The dialogues were alright, the script was good but had few visible flaws while the screenplay was gripping. Background score was good in parts and two songs were fantastic. Cinematography was appealing. Editing was sharp but could have been better. Costumes were natural while the art department was suiting the moods. Nani comes up with a decent performance and scores. Nithya is expressive as usual and she fits the role aptly. Karthik Kumar was brief but good. Bindu Madhavi looks sexy and makes her presence felt. Shimmore was perfect. Jennifer was weak. The others didn't have much scope.
Conclusion:
The film is the dubbed version of the Tamil film Veppam which is hitting the screens today. The subject chosen is quite grim and while the first half is all about the happenings, the second half is all about connecting the dots on how the first half happened. As such, the film has been made with good intensity but then it doesn't have a holistic approach towards audience who seek a bit of comedy, romance and entertainment. This is a serious film with a dark subject so it will have selective audience. At the box office, this has good chance of scoring returns due to its budget and quality of making.

Verdict:
Passable treat, can be watched once
